Two Tone

There were teo tone colors available on the Mark, having not seen one, can anyone tell me wheather they were dark top/light body or light top/dark body? Bob

Usually dark top, lighter bottom. Mine is a deep green witha medium green bottom.

I believe you could order it any way you wanted.

The list of two tone paint combinations are listed here in the archives in the documents thread. There were dark bodies with lighter roofs produced.

Barry is correct in stating that you could get the car built with whatever color and interior you wanted, for a price I guess. I know there was a car produced with pig skin leather, there was also a car made with red background paint on the hub caps and another reportedly with gold plated hub caps. If I remember correctly, another car had pink pinstriping.

If you get a chance, read Buddy Holiday's book. There's a lot of them listed in there. A very interesting read.

Most of that is listed in the latest authenticity manual including all the two tone cars with their serial numbers, except mine of which they missed (my VIN plate shows it as a monotone but my dealer invoice shows it as a two tone special order) and if my memory serves me correct the majority had dark upper and medium to light lower.
