This is a great website for some truly beautiful classic cars. The Facel Vega is one of my favorite cars...this one is stunning! Anybody got a spare $180k?

Matt,
We have the same taste in cars. I got up close and personal with a Facel Vega in January at the Russo and Steele Auction in Scottsdale. Beautiful automobile and IMO, timeless like the Mark II. I never knew they were made in France.

The car was made in France, but was powered by an engine from the USA. The Chrysler Hemi was the engine used. The Facel Vega was indeed a lovely car.

I have seen many of them at Concours all over the country. It seems that no two are the same. This was from the era of other muscular but graceful coupes of the period. One of my favorites is the 1953 Cunningham C-3 Continental.

Barry... is the pic you posted a Facel Vega or a 1953 Cunningham C-3 Continental?

It's a C-3. It's just another example of an American chassis and drive train with foreign body work. Most of them were gorgeous.
Are those 22" tires on there?

They do look huge, especially since the car was pretty big, too. briggs Cunningham was 6'4" I believe.
