Spin on's are so convenient and easy, but in the day, cartridges were the norm. My old Honda Goldwing, several of my old MB's all used cartridge.

Mine has been converted to the spin on also. It takes the same FL1A filter as the Mark IV I own. I still have the cartridge unit in a box somewhere though.
